I was really excited to try All’ Antico Vinaio – Los Angeles after hearing so much hype. We stopped in for lunch and while it was good… I wasn’t exactly blown away.
The bread? Excellent. The Italian potato chips? Elite. Truly no notes. I may or may not have stuffed a few into my sandwich because I believe in texture.
I ordered the New Yorker (roast beef, tomato, arugula) and swapped the porcini cream for gorgonzola cream. Bold choice. Slight regret. And I love gorgonzola — but it definitely overpowered everything else.
The sandwich itself was massive — like, “this could feed a small committee” massive. I didn’t even finish half. Flavor-wise it wasn’t bad… but it wasn’t unforgettable either.
Seating is either outside on the patio or at a small counter inside. Service is quick, ambience is minimal. It’s more “grab your sandwich and go” than “lingering Italian café moment.”
If you’re into very different, over-the-top sandwiches, you might absolutely love it. For me? Great bread, great chips, solid but not life-changing.
