Belle’s Beach House

Nick Mathers and the Wish You Were Here Restaurant Group has transported us to paradise, even if just for two hours at Belle’s Beach House. I have officially found my restaurant in Venice, and honestly I’m considering forwarding my mail here. We went for both lunch and dinner because moderation is for people who don’t understand joy.

We kicked things off with Palomas and margaritas so strong they could probably file taxes. A+ decisions were made. The inside of the restaurant looks like someone kidnapped a Hawaiian resort and hid it in Venice. Gorgeous. Peaceful. Slightly makes you want to quit your job and learn the ukulele. The staff was amazing, and even the manager was so nice I briefly forgot I’m usually suspicious of people that cheerful.

Dinner is where things got serious.
The spicy tuna on crispy rice? Absolute masterpiece. I’d write it a love letter. Ginger shoyu, spicy aioli, chives… all working together like a well-trained boy band.

Crispy Rock Shrimp? I would fight someone for the last piece. No hesitation.

The Cheeseburger Spring Roll made me question every life choice I made before eating it. Whoever invented that deserves a parade.

The Teriyaki Cheeseburger (hello, kobe beef) has taken a sacred spot in my personal food pantheon. I’m considering commissioning a portrait.

Then the Grilled Street Corn showed up dripping in furikake, cotija, truffle aioli, lime, shio konbu and chili. It wasn’t just good. It was “don’t-talk-to-me-I’m-having-a-moment” good.

We added Mochiko Chicken Bites because self-control is for the weak. Crispy, crunchy, flavor explosions… basically edible fireworks.
And the Huli Huli Chicken with macadamia aioli and pineapple honey? Vacation on a plate. With fries. Fries so good they should come with a warning label.

In conclusion: This place is dangerously delicious. I will be returning. Often. Possibly too often.
