We popped into Great White All Day Café in Brentwood for brunch… and then we came back for lunch another day because apparently we have no self-control and Great White knows exactly how to exploit that. Tucked into our old neighborhood at 11660 Darlington Avenue, this place serves the same menu all day—because they understand that sometimes you want pizza for breakfast and eggs for dinner and no one should judge you for that.
We like to kick things off with a cocktail, because hydration is important, and the Brunch Punch (fresh OJ + Cava) basically counts as taking your vitamins.
Now, let’s talk food—specifically the Smoked Salmon Pizza, which is essentially a bagel and lox who showed up to brunch in a glow-up, sprinkled with dill, capers, chives, crème fraîche, and toasted sesame. It’s brunch. On. A. Pizza. We fear it. We respect it. We order it every time.
The Avocado Toast is another favorite—hold the Fresno chile, add garlic, onion sprouts, and sourdough. It’s LA in edible form and we accept that about ourselves. The Breakfast Burrito is a full-on blanket of love stuffed with scrambled eggs, Oaxaca cheese, scallions, chives, bacon, chipotle aioli, tater tots, and salsa. Yes, tater tots. Breakfast royalty.
When we returned for lunch (because of course we did), we dove into the Crispy Chicken Sandwich—perfectly crunchy with honey mustard, cabbage slaw, pickles, and fries that we absolutely did not share. Then there’s the Tremendous Burger, which is tremendous both in name and in “I need a nap after this”: two beef patties, caramelized fennel, American cheese, burger sauce, lettuce, and a side of regret-free fries.
And if the food weren’t enough, the walls are decked out with giant artwork by local artist Michael Harnish, giving you something gorgeous to stare at between bites—besides your own reflection in the window while you inhale fries.
We love Great White for a casual breakfast, lunch, or dinner—basically whenever hunger strikes, which is always.
