Huntington Meats

If it were your birthday, and you had a friend who could cook anything in the world, what would you request for your special birthday lunch?

A beautiful, cheesy quiche? Some golden, crunchy homemade fried chicken? Maybe a lovely seafood salad piled high with lobster and crab?

Well, I am that friend — the excellent cook — and my beloved friend X is the lucky birthday person. Now, I adore X more than anyone on this planet. But when it comes to food? Let’s just say I’m having some second (and third and possibly fourth) thoughts about X’s palate.

Because what does X want for their celebratory birthday lunch?
A meatloaf sandwich. With ketchup.

I know. I had to sit down too.

But before you judge, let me explain. This isn’t just any meatloaf — it’s Huntington’s Meats meatloaf.

If you’ve never heard of Huntington’s, stop what you’re doing and get yourself to the Original Farmers Market right now. Trust me, it’s that good. This meatloaf is the gold standard — moist, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely legendary. Sorry, Whole Foods, but yours is solid runner-up material.

Pro tip: buy two pounds because you’ll blink and it’ll be gone. Bake it at 350°F for 45–55 minutes, and you’ve got a loaf of pure happiness. (If you’re feeling lazy, Whole Foods’ version comes pre-baked — I’m not judging, just observing.)

But Huntington’s is more than just meatloaf magic. It’s our go-to butcher for everything from Ribeye to Filet Mignon to Tri-Tip. Their team will even season your meat for free and hand you parking validation with a smile. It’s like stepping back in time to a real butcher shop — the kind where everyone knows their cuts and calls you “hon.”

Sure, the Kobe steaks might require a small loan, but we’re not getting those (yet). Instead, we marvel at the Tomahawk Steaks, which are so massive they make you feel a little Fred Flintstone-ish. If you can finish one solo, I salute you.

So yes, for X’s birthday lunch, I’ll be serving a Huntington’s Meatloaf Sandwich — toasted bread, a generous smear of ketchup, and a whole lot of love. Because sometimes, the simplest things are the best… even when you could make lobster salad instead.
