Kassi-Venice Beach

Lunch at Kassi Rooftop felt like a little Greek holiday without the jet lag. Another winner by the Wish You Were Here Group, Kassi brings a great culinary coastal vibe to Venice.

First, the logistics: pull into the Hotel Erwin parking lot off Pacific Ave, hand your chariot to the valet ($20), and let them whisk it away like Hermes delivering your ride to Olympus. Take the elevator skyward, and suddenly you’re not in Venice Beach anymore—you’re on a breezy rooftop with panoramic views of the ocean and city.

We were seated right on time, greeted by our server Taylor, who clearly has a PhD in charm and efficiency. He guided us through the menu like a culinary expert, making sure we didn’t over-order (a true miracle).

The food? Oh, the food:

  • Spanakopita Quesadilla: spinach, feta, and gooey perfection, with a garlic-yogurt dip that I could happily bathe in.
  • Fried Zucchini Chips: the Beyoncé of the meal. Crispy, golden, and paired with whipped feta and za’atar—this dish alone could start wars or end them.
  • Crudo Chips: tuna, avocado, and spicy aioli on pita chips—basically a Grecian sushi-meets-mezze situation, and it works.
  • Grilled Flatbread with Tzatziki: so simple, so good, sprinkled with za’atar, olive oil, and sea salt. Honestly, I’d eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

We left full, happy, and just a little sun-kissed—exactly how a Mediterranean lunch should end.

If you want a rooftop that serves up food worthy of the gods, views to match, and vibes that scream opa!—Kassi is your spot.
