Locanda Positano

If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Marina del Rey, Locanda Positano is your golden ticket to carb heaven. This little Italian spot is tucked away on a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” block of Lincoln Blvd. The only hard part? Parking. It’s street parking only, so bring patience…or a rideshare. (Pro tip: circling the block burns just enough calories to justify extra pasta.)

Inside, the vibe is warm, cozy, and just a little like you’ve stepped into someone’s house—if that someone had an Italian nonna secretly running the kitchen. Start with a glass of wine or cocktail to set the mood, because things are about to get delicious.

Appetizers? Oh yes. The Burrata Alla Caprese with heirloom tomatoes was so fresh it basically tasted like summer. The Carpacci Di Manzo (beef carpaccio with arugula and parmesan) was fancy without being fussy. And don’t sleep on the Insalata Di Barbabietole—those beets and goat cheese are the king and queen of salads.

Now, pasta is where this place flexes hard. The Linguini Alle Vongole (with clams) was a big hit and the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe was simple perfection (cheese + pepper = life). The Tagliatelle Tartufo Nero was rich, creamy, and covered in shaved black truffles—aka edible luxury. The Risotto al Porcini? Comfort food turned up to 11 with mushrooms and taleggio cheese. Our tablemate went with the Costolette Di Agnello (rack of lamb), which was juicy and decadent.

And because we don’t know the meaning of “too full,” dessert happened. The tiramisu was classic, and the chocolate soufflé nearly caused a fork duel at our table.

Bottom line: Locanda Positano may look small and unassuming, but the flavors are huge. Consider this your official excuse to eat pasta, drink wine, and pretend you’re on the Amalfi Coast without leaving L.A. We’ll definitely be back—probably sooner than our waistlines would like.
