🍽️ My Experience at Monsieur Marcel Bistro

We were walking around the market when a random craving for French onion soup hit—and if you know, you know…you don’t ignore that.

We’ve always loved shopping at Monsieur Marcel, so trying the bistro just made sense.

Chris, the manager, was incredibly warm and welcoming and sat us at the perfect quiet table—ideal for actually talking and enjoying our lunch. Our server was just as delightful and made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed.

The vibe: cozy French café energy right in the middle of the market chaos.
Basically: your little escape within the market.

⭐ The Food

Let’s talk about the real star—THE FOOD.

We started with a fresh baguette—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

👉 Paired with Beurre d’Isigny (my new obsession)—rich, creamy, slightly salty…this butter alone deserves its own fan club.

We also ordered the Olives Marinées—a mix of imported olives that were gone in about 30 seconds. No regrets.

Then came the French Onion Soup (Gratinée à l’Oignon)

👉 Covered in melty cheese and sitting in a deep, savory beef broth—comfort in a bowl.
Easily one of the best in the city.

For the main, we shared the Niçoise Salad:

👉 Stacked with seared ahi tuna, white anchovies, potatoes, hard-boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, olives, green beans, red onion, and Dijon vinaigrette.

Fresh, balanced, and made us feel like we had our lives together (for at least one meal).

🙌 Service

So warm and welcoming it almost caught me off guard. Chris and our server really made the whole experience feel special without being over the top.
