🍝 North Italia El Segundo Review: Is This Popular LA Chain Actually Worth It Now?
🔥 I think So!
We hadn’t been back to North Italia in a year (and honestly…we were underwhelmed).
But last night? Unexpected comeback.
📍 Quick Info
Location: The Point, El Segundo
Price Range: $20–40
Best For: Group dinners, casual date nights, Italian comfort food
Parking: Tough—but when you find a spot, it feels like you beat the system
Popular Items: Zucca Chips, Shrimp Scampi, Lasagna, Caesar Salad, Tiramisu
🍽️ My Experience at North Italia
We made a last-minute reservation with friends and went in with low expectations.
First surprise: we found parking immediately.
At The Point.
I didn’t question it.
The restaurant was packed (always a good sign), but our 7:15 reservation was actually honored and we were seated right away—already off to a better start than expected.
The vibe is lively and polished—definitely one of the more elevated-feeling chain restaurants in LA.
⭐ The Food
Let’s talk about the real star—THE FOOD.
We started with the zucca chips and they were gone in seconds.
👉 Light, crispy zucchini with a pesto aioli that you will keep dipping into long after the chips are gone.
The Margherita pizza:
👉 Thin crust, simple, and surprisingly solid. No notes.
The Little Gem Caesar salad:
👉 Grana padano, herb breadcrumbs, black pepper—I seriously considered ordering just the dressing and croutons on the side.
Then came the mains.
Three of us ordered the wild shrimp scampi (listed as a “small plate”…which is bold).
👉 Large shrimp, blistered tomatoes, garlic confit, herb butter, charred lemon—
Dip the grilled bread into that sauce and you’re fully committed. Garlic breath included.
We also ordered the Sunday Night Lasagna:
👉 Short rib, sausage, marinara, ricotta, provolone—my husband said it was amazing and then refused to share, which honestly tells you everything.
And dessert: tiramisu.
👉 Light, classic, and those little chocolate balls on top? I need them in bulk immediately.
🙌 Service
Started strong—fast, attentive, and efficient.
There was a noticeable gap between the salad and mains, but considering how packed it was, we’ll give them a pass.
🍴 What to Order
If it’s your first time, don’t overthink it:
