The Red Chickz

I went to The Red Chickz today because a friend said “you HAVE to go” and honestly… they were not dramatic enough. The hype? Oh, the hype is VERY real.

First of all—A PARKING LOT. In LA. Already iconic.

I walk in confused, hungry, and emotionally unprepared. Claudia takes one look at me and is like “don’t worry, I got you.” And she did. She absolutely did.

I got the lunch special ($9.99?? in THIS economy??) and ordered the chicken tenders. When I tell you these things were HUGE… I thought they accidentally gave me a whole chicken’s résumé. Crunchy doesn’t even begin to cover it—you could hear the crunch from another zip code. Juicy? Yes. Spiritual experience? Also yes.

I ordered mild because I respect my limits… and it STILL had me questioning my life choices. 10/10, no regrets, just mild panic.

The Texas toast? Buttery. Soft. Living its best life. The pickle chips?? I didn’t expect to be emotionally moved by pickles today but here we are. They COMPLETED the tenders. Like a power couple.

And the potato wedges?? Crispy outside, fluffy inside, exactly how potatoes dream of being.

Meanwhile the place is PACKED. People coming in, going out, DoorDash drivers doing cardio. It’s chaos. It’s beautiful.

Final verdict: The hype is real, the chicken is loud, and I will absolutely be back.
