Wood and Water

PSA: If you live anywhere near Wood and Water and haven’t eaten there yet, you’re making a terrible life decision.

Wood and Water delivered a five-star experience from the moment we pulled up to valet. First good sign: we were seated right on time by the owner himself. Second good sign: they handed me a handbag rack (yes, a mini purse throne). Gucci and Louis were relieved not to be dining on the floor like peasants.

The menu is seasonal modern American with multicultural flair — aka the kind of menu where everyone at the table says, “Wait… can we order that too?”

We started strong with Ketel One martinis with fresh lime and plenty of olives — exactly the way martinis should arrive: cold, confident, and ready to start gossip.

Then came the house rolls with honey butter and sun-dried tomato chimichurri, which should honestly come with a warning label because I would commit minor crimes for another basket.

The Olives and Feta appetizer (Castelvetrano + Kalamata olives, feta, lemon, olive oil, herbs, baguette) was dangerously snackable. You know the kind where everyone politely shares for 30 seconds and then suddenly guards the plate like pirates.

The Roasted Beet & Heirloom Tomato Salad deserves its own standing ovation — shaved arugula, balsamic reduction, lemon olive oil dressing, and a goat cheese crouton that deserves its own Instagram account. Truly elite salad behavior.

The Arugula, Spinach & Feta Salad with pecorino, pine nuts, and orange zest was also phenomenal and made us briefly consider becoming salad people. Briefly.

For mains we went big:

🍗 24-Hour Brined Skillet Fried Chicken with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed kale. I normally distrust kale, but this kale changed my mind and possibly my personality.

🦞 Lobster Linguini with squid ink noodles, lobster, leeks, peas, and a lobster-saffron sauce that made the entire table go silent except for occasional happy noises.

🐟 King Salmon with lemon beurre blanc, served with black rice, farro, and sweet potatoes — balanced, buttery, and absolutely delicious.

Then dessert happened because we are not quitters.

The Key Lime Pie arrived and I’ll admit: I’m not usually a key lime pie person. But this one was so creamy and cheesecake-like that I immediately reconsidered several life decisions.

Long story short: Wood and Water is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out should feel special. Beautiful space, thoughtful service, incredible food, and the kind of attention to detail that includes purse racks and perfect martinis.

If you love great food, great service, and restaurants that actually care about the experience — go support Wood and Water.

Your taste buds (and your purse) will thank you.
